My wife Jill and I visited the Yorkshire Dales last week and it was beautiful!
The Dales and particularly the villages of Redmire and Malham hold a special place in our hearts, as this was where Jill and I fell in love all those years ago. We were both at the tender age of 16 and we were spending a week, along with some friends, staying at a Station House in Redmire. Now here we are, 37 years later and still loving the area.
Here's a photo from our day out last week and it's a 'side of the road' shot taken as we set off on our return journey back home to York. Thankfully, there was just enough space at the roadside for me to pull the car over, grab the tripod and camera bag , negotiate the wire and drystone wall and find a nice composition.
The Sycamore copse and field of Buttercups had caught my attention earlier in the day, as we made our way up to Malham Tarm, but I'd promptly forgotten about it before long.
